The Most Interesting Disney Cruise Line Itineraries for Fall 2027 & Spring 2028

Disney Cruise Line has released its newest batch of itineraries for Fall 2027 through Spring 2028, and there is a LOT more here than the usual lineup of three- and four-night cruises to The Bahamas.
The Disney Wish is coming to New York. There are cruises with three separate days at Disney's island destinations. Disney Fantasy is heading to Bermuda for the first time. The Disney Magic will transit the Panama Canal twice, including visits to brand-new Disney Cruise Line ports. And there are some fantastic Southern Caribbean itineraries that look very different from the typical Disney cruise.
So rather than simply listing every new sailing, I went through the release looking for the cruises that stand out.
Here are the Disney Cruise Line Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 itineraries I think are most interesting — and why you may want to put them on your vacation radar.
1. Disney Cruise Line Is Returning to New York — With the Disney Wish
This is easily one of the biggest announcements in the entire release.
After completing its first European season, the Disney Wish will arrive in New York in September 2027 and sail seven special cruises from the city.
Disney hasn't sailed from New York since 2023, and this will be the first time guests can experience a Wish-class Disney ship on a season of New York departures.
The NYC lineup includes:
September 29, 2027 – 4-night Bermuda
October 3, 2027 – 5-night Canada & New England
October 8, 2027 – 6-night Bermuda & Canada
October 14, 2027 – 5-night Bermuda
October 19, 2027 – 5-night Bermuda
October 24, 2027 – 7-night Canada
October 31, 2027 – 5-night Bermuda cruise ending in San Juan
Several October departures will also feature Halloween on the High Seas, making an already unusual itinerary even more fun. The two five-night Bermuda cruises on October 14 and October 19 include an extended visit to King's Wharf, giving guests two days to explore Bermuda instead of squeezing everything into one port day.
And if fall foliage sounds more appealing than beaches, the October 24 sailing visits Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Sydney, Nova Scotia; and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Disney officially says five of the seven New York voyages include Bermuda, with three offering an extended visit.
Why I Like It
For travelers in the Northeast, this is a rare opportunity to experience Disney Cruise Line without automatically traveling to Florida.
And if you've sailed the Wish before on one of its traditional short Bahamian itineraries, seeing the same ship sailing past the Manhattan skyline toward Bermuda or Atlantic Canada is going to feel like a completely different vacation.
2. There Are Cruises With THREE Disney Island Days
This may be my favorite discovery in the new schedule.
Disney has several special six-night cruises that visit Disney Castaway Cay twice AND Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point once — or vice versa. That means you get three separate Disney island-destination days during one six-night vacation.
Disney Dream — November 22, 2027
This six-night Very Merrytime cruise from Fort Lauderdale includes:
Disney Lookout Cay
Disney Castaway Cay
Nassau
A second visit to Disney Castaway Cay
One day at sea
So you're getting two Castaway Cay days + one Lookout Cay day during a holiday sailing.
Disney Treasure — January 9, 2028
This six-night cruise from Port Canaveral includes:
Disney Castaway Cay
Disney Lookout Cay
Nassau
One day at sea
Disney Castaway Cay again
Another three-Disney-island-day vacation — this time aboard the Disney Treasure.
Disney Fantasy — January 2, 2028
Disney Fantasy flips the formula with:
Disney Lookout Cay
Disney Castaway Cay
Disney Lookout Cay again
Nassau
One day at sea
That means two Lookout Cay days + Castaway Cay on one cruise.
Who Should Look at These?
If your favorite part of a Disney cruise is Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay, these should immediately move toward the top of your list.
Three Disney beach days on a six-night cruise is pretty tough to beat.
3. Some Four-Night Cruises Visit BOTH Disney Island Destinations
Here's another itinerary detail worth paying attention to when comparing seemingly similar cruises:
Not every four-night Disney cruise is created equal.
There are select four-night Bahamian itineraries during this release that visit:
Disney Castaway Cay + Disney Lookout Cay + one day at sea
with no Nassau stop at all.
For travelers who have been to Nassau before — or who simply care more about maximizing Disney's island destinations — I would often choose this itinerary over a traditional short cruise that includes Nassau and only one Disney destination.
This is exactly why I recommend comparing the actual ports, not simply choosing a cruise based on the number of nights or the ship. Disney's new schedule includes a wide mix of Bahamian itineraries featuring one or both Disney destinations.
4. Disney Fantasy's First Bermuda Cruise Is a Standout
Here's one that could easily get overlooked:
On March 18, 2028, the Disney Fantasy will sail to Bermuda for the first time.
And Disney didn't give Fantasy a basic Bermuda itinerary.
It's an eight-night cruise from Fort Lauderdale featuring:
Two days at King's Wharf, Bermuda
Disney Lookout Cay
Disney Castaway Cay
Three days at sea
That's a fantastic combination.
You get enough time in Bermuda to actually explore beyond the immediate cruise port, plus visits to both Disney island destinations on the way back to Florida.
My Take
This may be one of the sleeper hits of the entire Spring 2028 schedule.
It's especially intriguing for adults, couples and repeat Disney cruisers who want Disney's onboard experience but are looking for something beyond another traditional Caribbean itinerary.
5. Disney Wish Is Going WAY Beyond the Bahamas
The Disney Wish has spent much of its life associated with short Bahamian cruises from Port Canaveral.
That changes dramatically in Fall 2027.
After leaving New York, Wish heads to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where it will sail a seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise beginning November 5, 2027.
Stops include:
Oranjestad, Aruba
Kralendijk, Bonaire
Roseau, Dominica
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
For someone who wants to experience the Disney Wish but isn't excited about another short Bahamas itinerary, this is VERY interesting.
Instead of Nassau and Castaway Cay, you're waking up in Aruba, Bonaire, Dominica and St. Maarten.
That's a completely different Disney Wish vacation.
6. Southern Caribbean Fans Should Also Watch the Disney Fantasy
Disney Fantasy will also spend time sailing from San Juan, opening up access to ports Disney doesn't visit nearly as frequently as the traditional Eastern and Western Caribbean destinations.
One particularly interesting sailing departs December 3, 2027, with calls at:
Aruba
Curaçao
Dominica
Antigua
Additional Southern Caribbean Fantasy sailings return in Spring 2028.
These itineraries are great options for experienced Caribbean travelers who want more port variety — especially if you've already cruised the standard Nassau, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Tortola and St. Thomas routes.
7. You Can Visit BOTH Disney Island Destinations From Texas
Here's a fun one for travelers who assume Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay automatically mean sailing from Florida. They don't.
Disney Magic will spend much of this season sailing from Galveston, Texas, and select seven-night Bahamian itineraries travel all the way from Texas to:
Disney Lookout Cay + Disney Castaway Cay
Disney specifically highlighted this unusual Galveston itinerary in the announcement.
Two examples include departures on:
December 27, 2027
January 21, 2028
There are quite a few sea days involved, so this won't be the right cruise for everyone. But if you love sea days and want a longer Disney cruise with both Disney destinations without flying to Florida, it's an interesting option.
8. Disney Magic Is Crossing the Panama Canal — Twice
If you're looking for something truly different, Disney Magic wins.
Disney has scheduled two 14-night Panama Canal repositioning cruises, and each includes a port Disney Cruise Line has never visited before.
November 4, 2027: San Diego to Galveston
This eastbound itinerary includes:
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Fuerte Amador/Panama City, Panama
Panama Canal transit
Cartagena, Colombia
Galveston
Fuerte Amador will be a maiden call for Disney Cruise Line.
March 26, 2028: Galveston to San Diego
The return journey heads west with:
Cartagena, Colombia
Colón, Panama
Panama Canal transit
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Ensenada, Mexico
San Diego
Colón will also be a first-time Disney Cruise Line port.
Who Is This For?
These definitely aren't your typical first Disney cruise.
But for repeat cruisers, retirees, adults who love sea days or travelers working through a cruise bucket list, these could be spectacular.
Fourteen nights aboard the smaller Disney Magic plus a full Panama Canal transit is about as different from a three-night Bahamian Disney cruise as you can get.
9. The Disney Wish Transatlantic Might Be the Wildest Wish Itinerary Yet
Before Wish can cruise from New York, it has to get there.
And Disney has turned that repositioning into a fantastic itinerary.
On September 17, 2027, the Disney Wish departs Southampton, England for a 12-night westbound transatlantic cruise ending in New York City.
The itinerary includes:
Greenock, Scotland
Two days in Reykjavik, Iceland
St. John's, Newfoundland
New York City
along with plenty of sea days to actually enjoy the ship.
If your idea of a Disney cruise includes Scotland, Iceland, Newfoundland and sailing into New York Harbor, congratulations: Disney apparently made a cruise specifically for you.
Who I'd Recommend It To
This would be high on my list for adult Disney fans and experienced cruisers.
The Wish itself becomes part of the destination because you have so many sea days to explore the ship — while the ports turn the cruise into a much larger international vacation.
10. Disney Destiny Is Moving to Port Canaveral
Disney Destiny will begin the Fall 2027 season sailing from Fort Lauderdale before making a significant move:
For the first time, Disney Destiny will homeport in Port Canaveral.
From there, it will offer cruises ranging from three to seven nights to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
That gives Port Canaveral guests an increasingly interesting decision.
Instead of simply asking, “Which Disney cruise fits my dates?” we increasingly need to ask:
Which Disney ship experience fits your family?
With Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny all operating from Port Canaveral during portions of this season, ship choice matters more than ever.
Dining, entertainment, theming, itinerary and cruise length can all point different families toward different ships.
11. San Diego Gets TWO Disney Ships
Disney Cruise Line is also expanding its West Coast presence.
Both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will begin the Fall 2027 season sailing from San Diego, offering three- to seven-night cruises to destinations including:
Catalina Island
Ensenada
Cabo San Lucas
Puerto Vallarta
Mazatlán
Disney Wonder will then continue sailing from San Diego through Spring 2028.
For West Coast families, that's a lot more flexibility.
And for East Coast travelers, combining a Disney cruise with a few days in Southern California can create a completely different vacation than the standard Florida cruise-and-theme-park combination.
12. Disney Adventure Continues From Singapore
Disney's largest ship, the Disney Adventure, will continue sailing from Singapore with three- and four-night itineraries.
Select four-night cruises will also include a visit to Langkawi, Malaysia, adding a destination day to the Adventure's heavily ship-focused cruise experience.
For most U.S. travelers, I wouldn't look at this as simply “a four-night cruise.”
I'd look at it as something to incorporate into a much larger Asia vacation:
Singapore + Disney Adventure + Malaysia + additional time exploring Southeast Asia.
That suddenly becomes a pretty incredible trip.
Don't Forget the Holiday Cruises
Fall also means two of Disney Cruise Line's popular seasonal celebrations return.
Halloween on the High Seas sailings begin in September 2027, bringing Halloween entertainment, activities, themed décor and character appearances to select cruises.
Then Very Merrytime Cruises return in November and December with holiday decorations and seasonal entertainment onboard. This matters when comparing dates.
Two cruises can visit almost identical ports but offer very different onboard experiences depending on whether one falls during Halloween on the High Seas or Very Merrytime.
So…Which New Disney Cruise Would I Choose?
There really isn't one answer because several of these itineraries appeal to completely different travelers.
But if I were narrowing down the most interesting options from the entire release, these would be near the top of my list:
Best for Northeast Travelers
Disney Wish from New York
It's rare, convenient for the Northeast and offers destinations we don't normally associate with the Wish.
Best for Disney Beach Lovers
The six-night cruises with three Disney island days
Two visits to one Disney destination plus a visit to the other? Yes, please.
Best Underrated Itinerary
Disney Fantasy's March 18, 2028 Bermuda cruise
Two days in Bermuda + Lookout Cay + Castaway Cay is an incredibly well-rounded itinerary.
Best for Experienced Caribbean Cruisers
The Southern Caribbean sailings from San Juan
Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Dominica, Antigua and St. Maarten offer a refreshing change from Disney's usual Caribbean routes.
Best Bucket-List Cruise
Disney Magic through the Panama Canal
Fourteen nights, a full canal transit and brand-new Disney Cruise Line ports make this one special.
Best for Adult Disney Travelers
Disney Wish's 12-night transatlantic
Scotland, Iceland, Newfoundland, New York and lots of time aboard the Wish? That's hard to overlook.
When Can You Book Disney Cruise Line's Fall 2027 & Spring 2028 Cruises?
Disney is opening reservations in phases based on Castaway Club status:

Should You Book Early?
If one of the unusual itineraries is calling your name, I wouldn't wait too long to decide.
The New York season consists of only seven sailings. The double-Castaway-Cay cruises are limited. Specialty stateroom categories, connecting rooms and popular dates can also become harder to find as bookings come in.
That doesn't mean every Disney cruise needs to be booked the second reservations open.
But when you're looking at a sailing Disney may only operate once during an entire season, flexibility disappears pretty quickly.
