Disneyland Resort Planning FAQ

The earlier the better, especially if you want more resort choices, better availability, popular dining reservations, or travel around holidays and school breaks.

Staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel gives you the most immersive Disney experience, with Disney theming, close proximity to the parks, and convenient access to Downtown Disney and the theme parks. Disneyland Resort has three official Disney-owned hotels: Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel, and Pixar Place Hotel. Disney also lists Good Neighbor Hotels as Disney-approved hotels close to the Disneyland Resort, with options that can be filtered by distance, category, amenities, dining, and transportation.

Good Neighbor Hotels are often a great fit for travelers who want more budget flexibility, suite-style rooms, complimentary breakfast, loyalty program options, or a location across the street from the parks. The best choice depends on your budget, travel style, walking preference, room needs, and how much you value staying inside the Disney resort experience.

For many Disneyland trips, yes — Park Hopper tickets can be very worthwhile because Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are located directly across from each other. That makes it easy to move between the two parks for attractions, dining, entertainment, festivals, nighttime shows, or lower wait times.

Absolutely. Disneyland can be a great fit for couples, friend groups, food lovers, festival fans, specialty night events, and adults who love Disney.

You have several options to get from the airport to your Anaheim hotel, including rideshare, shuttle service, taxi, private car, limousine service, and public transportation.

John Wayne Airport / Orange County Airport / SNA is usually the easiest airport for Disneyland because it is approximately 15 miles from the Disneyland Resort and is the closest major airport. Disney notes that ground transportation at SNA is located in the Ground Transportation Center, with options including shuttles, buses, taxis, limousines, and rideshare.

Los Angeles International Airport / LAX is farther away, approximately 40 miles from the Disneyland Resort. Disney lists options from LAX including bus/rail connections, shuttles, limousines, vans, and rideshare.

For most clients, the easiest options are usually a pre-arranged shuttle/private transfer or rideshare. SNA is typically more convenient, while LAX may offer more flight options. We can help you compare airport choices and transportation options based on your flight schedule, budget, party size, luggage, and comfort level.
