What to Pack for Walt Disney World: Your Stress-Free Essentials Guide

Packing for Walt Disney World is a little bit of an art and a little bit of a science—but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

When you’re getting ready for your magical vacation, think comfort first. Florida’s heat and humidity are no joke, so stick with lightweight, breathable clothes. And don’t forget your shoes—broken-in sneakers are a must (bring two pairs if you can, so you can alternate). Toss in a sweatshirt or light jacket for the occasional chilly morning or evening.

It will rain at some point, so pack a poncho or rain jacket. Also, be sure to bring a swimsuit—whether you’re planning to hit the hotel pool or one of Disney’s water parks. A sun hat, sunglasses, and plenty of socks and underwear will help keep you cool, comfortable, and ready for adventure.

What to Put in Your Park Bag

A comfy, sturdy backpack is your best park companion. Here’s what we suggest you carry inside:

  • A refillable water bottle

  • Portable phone charger (the My Disney Experience app loves battery life)

  • Sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes

  • Cooling towel or personal fan

  • Small first aid kit with band-aids, moleskin, and pain relievers

  • Easy snacks to keep the "hangry" at bay

  • Wet wipes (for sticky hands or messy treats)

  • Autograph book and pen if you're collecting character signatures

Packing for the Kids

Traveling with little ones? Here are a few lifesavers:

  • Diapers or pull-ups, wipes, and a changing pad

  • Extra outfit for each child

  • Comfort item like a blanket or stuffed animal

  • Small toys, books, or coloring items for downtime

  • Your own stroller (it really makes a difference)

Don't Forget These!

These are the often-forgotten items you’ll be glad you packed:

  • MagicBands or park tickets

  • IDs, insurance cards, and travel documents

  • A nightlight for the hotel room

  • Gum (Disney doesn’t sell it!)

  • Ziplock bags for leftover snacks

  • Wet/Dry bag for wet clothes

  • A carry-on with an outfit and pajamas for each family member—just in case luggage gets delayed

Pro Tip: Pack Early!

Start packing about a week before your trip and do a final check a few days out. And here’s a bonus tip: you can even have groceries or essentials delivered right to your Disney resort—it’s a huge time-saver.
